A player can create an ideal battle deck with 4 packs, so 1 booster box (containing 5 packs) is enough for 1 player to get started. 2 boxes would be needed for 2 players to battle each other.

Dream Beasts is designed for kids ages 5+ who are ready to practice basic addition and subtraction, but even children who have mastered basic math will have great fun playing the game and earning booster packs!

The mechanics of the game are designed to be very simple with quick turns for children with short attention spans. There are no cards that can be played during an opponent's turn and each player has a very limited number of actions they can perform on their turn. While kids just beginning to learn basic addition and subtraction may need guidance from an adult, the game rules are designed for kids to be able to catch on very quickly.
